Red Wing area residents are encouraged to donate to this year’s Salvation Army Bell Ringing campaign.
Tom Kuelbs, Southeast Minnesota Field Representative, says there will be kettles set up at Family Fare in Red Wing and Island Market in Pine Island starting this Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Kuelbs says they are in great need for more bell ringers and usual shifts are two hours. Kuelbs says bell ringers make the campaign fun for everyone while helping those in need.
Kuelbs says nearly all the money raised stays in Goodhue county and the Salvation Army works with local partners to get the funds to the people who need it.
People can donate regular currency at the kettles and Kuelbs says they also have QR codes and Google and Apple pay available.
Bell ringing continues through December 23rd, the Kettle Campaign runs through December 31st.
