RWPS Referendum Passes

Red Wing Public Schools voters have approved the district’s 2026 referendum, which includes a $12.86 million building bond and a 10-year capital projects levy.
According to unofficial election results, the referendum passed with 4,697 YES votes (52.1%) and 4,311 NO votes (47.9%).
The district is grateful to the families, staff, childcare providers, and community members who shared their perspectives through surveys, discussions, meetings, and other opportunities throughout the planning process.
That input helped inform the direction of the proposal and the district’s long-term planning.
The proposal will support improvements at Sunnyside Elementary, including dedicated PreK and Kindergarten learning spaces, building system upgrades, accessibility improvements, and other renovations.
The capital projects levy will provide ongoing funding for eligible needs including technology, curriculum, facilities, and other capital expenses.
