Red Wing area residents are invited to attend two free events this week celebrating Veteran’s Day, one Friday morning and one Sunday afternoon.
Lance Garrick say Friday, November 12th at 9:30 am there will once again be a Red Wing Community Veteran’s Day Commemoration in the Red Wing High School gymnasium, with the focus on the Korean War.
Garrick says High School Juniors and Seniors will be there in person, as well as local veterans and community members, who are invited to attend.
Music Thursday morning will be provided by Red Wing High School Band, Ovation, and Minnesota State College Southeast musicians. Masks are required to attend.
Sunday’s free Open House for Korean War Veteran’s and families will be held at the Red Wing Elks Lodge from 1 pm to 4 pm.
Garrick says there will be food provided, memorabilia will be displayed and stories from Veterans are being put into a book project.
