Red Wing Vehicle Fire

The Red Wing Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on Bayview Drive in Red Wing Thursday at 3:26 am for reports of a car in a garage on fire.

Fire department personnel arrived on scene within four minutes of receiving the call and found a fully involved vehicle fire, away from any structures.

The fire was controlled within five minutes. Smoke was found in the garage of the residence, but no fire was found.

Crews remained on scene for an additional one hour and 15 minutes to complete overhaul and investigations.

 The vehicle involved sustained major damage while the residence sustained little to no damage.

Red Wing Police Department, Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office Dispatchers, and Siewert’s Towing assisted on this incident.

Mutual aid assistance was provided by Lake City Fire Department, Ellsworth Fire Department, Goodhue Fire Department, and Hastings Fire Department.
