Red Wing Suspicious Death

On Friday May 30th, the Red Wing Police Department and Red Wing Fire Department were dispatched to the 200 block of East Fifth Street at 6:22 a.m. for a report of an unconscious male who was later identified as 41-year old Matthew Thimmesch.

Thimmesch was transported for medical care and on Monday, the Red Wing Police Department was notified that Thimmesch was declared deceased at 10:31 a.m.

The Red Wing Police Department, with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, started an investigation into the incident.

This is currently being investigated as a suspicious death.

There is no known threat to the general public.
