
The Red Wing Fire Department was dispatched yesterday at 10:28 a.m. to assist two individuals stranded off the walking trail at He Mni Can-Barn Bluff in Red Wing.
Firefighter-paramedics arrived on scene within two minutes of receiving the call and began ascending the bluff to locate the injured individuals.
A first responder drone was deployed, and the hikers were located.
It took approximately one hour to reach both individuals. After being rescued, they were safely transported back to ground level.
The operation involved the following apparatus: one fire engine, three ambulances, one brush truck, one drone, and two chief officers.
Additional support was provided by the Red Wing Police Department, Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol Air Rescue Team, and Red Wing Public Works.
