Red Wing Community Pantries

The Red Wing Area Mutual Aid group’s Community Pantries spread around town is getting a lot of use.

The first pantry was built and in use in October of 2020 and member Chaz Neal, says with the colder weather, the need has been growing.

Neal says the pantry box in front of his house at 515 Green Street is getting plenty of attention, which he encourages.

Each pantry is adopted through the group by community members and is filled on a weekly basis with items like bread, noodles and pasta, dried soups and dinners, cereal, crackers, cookies, instant oatmeal, powdered milk, and hot chocolate mix.

Their motto is Solidarity not Charity. Take what you need, leave what you can.
