The Red Wing Fire Department received a call reporting a porch fire at a residence in the 1500 Block of East Ave in Red Wing on Friday, December 29, at 8:39 pm.
Fire department personnel arrived on the scene within 2½ minutes of receiving the call and found heavy fire coming from the front porch extending into the attic and house.
Crews confirmed all occupants were out of the home and extinguished the fire. The fire was out within 5 minutes of arrival and crews worked to ventilate the smoke.
The residence sustained fire damage to the porch and attic area, and smoke damage throughout. The American Red Cross is assisting the residents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
