Starting Tuesday, May 21, Amtrak will be running a second daily train service (Amtrak Borealis) between those two points, and a stop in Red Wing is on the route.
Red Wing Area Chamber of Commerce and Visit Red Wing invite the community to welcome the inaugural trip at the Red Wing Depot, 420 Levee Street, when the train arrives in Red Wing at 12:35 next Tuesday and when it returns that evening at 5:40 p.m.
The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 pm and 5 pm to 6 pm.
There will be lots of great make and take crafts for all ages, live music, food trucks, a presentation from MnDOT and local dignitaries, a ribbon cutting, and more.
