The American Red Cross is experiencing a severe blood shortage.
Melanie Tschida, Executive Director, American Red Cross Southeast Minnesota, says they really encourage people who are able, to donate and the statistics show a very small percentage of people, 3% of over 60% who are eligible, are doing most of the donating.
Tschida says one easy way to schedule your blood donation ahead of time with the Red Cross Blood Donor APP.
She says the APP has a feature that allows you to follow where your donation is being used.
