The Red Cross is urging Minnesotans to donate blood to offset a nationwide shortage.
The organization says blood donations are at a 2 decade year low and that their inventory of available blood has reached critically low levels and they have started limiting the distribution of Type O blood due to the shortage.
In Goodhue County, upcoming opportunities to give blood include:
Red Wing – today, from 9 am – 3 pm at the Seminary Professional Building-Mayo Clinic Health System, 906 College Avenue and today at the Goodhue Community Center, 105 Broadway, from 1-7 pm.
Tomorrow (Thursday) from 9 am – 3 pm there will be a blood drive at the Red Wing Armory Minnesota Guard, 885 East 7th Street and Tuesday, March 7th you can give blood at the Red Wing YMCA, 434 Main Street, from 10 am – 4 pm.
