The American Red Cross is experiencing a severe blood shortage.

Melanie Tschida, Executive Director, American Red Cross Southeast Minnesota, says they really encourage people who are able, to donate and the statistics show a very small percentage of people are doing most of the dontaing.

Tschida says one easy way to schedule your blood donation ahead of time with the Red Cross Blood Donor APP. She says the APP has a feature that allows you to follow where your donation is being used.

KWNG and Bluff Country KCUE are partnering with the American Red Cross for our fourth ever station Blood Drive this week.
