Plainview Daycare Challenges SMIF REV Program

Greg Taylor

Plainview Mayor, Aaron Luckstein, says they are working with SMIF, Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation, on their 3 year  Rural Entrepreneurial Venture.

REV is designed to help communities create more vibrant economies by finding and supporting local entrepreneurs - from business startups to existing businesses.

Plainview Mayor, Aaron Luckstein, says lack of daycare is a big problem and they are holding a pair of public meetings with SMIF this month to hear from the community.

Luckstein says both meetings will take place the same day, Tuesday, September 17th, at City Hall, one with the community at 4:30 pm and the second at 6:30 pm with daycare providers.

Plainview is one of six communities that have been selected for the REV program for towns of under 10,000 in its 20-county region.

They include Caledonia, Kasson, and collectively, the communities of Gibbon, Fairfax and Winthrop.
