Plainview City Council and Candidates

The Plainview City Council’s August meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, since primary elections are scheduled for Aug. 11 and the Council cannot hold a meeting on the same day as elections.

The Plainview News reports this will be considered a ‘Special Meeting,’ so nothing can be added to the agenda once posted.

Filing of affidavits of Candidacy for City offices to be elected on November 3 will close at 5 pm this afternoon.

City Council seats up for election include:

Mayor, 2-Year term – Mayor Keith Holm is running for re-election and a pair of City Council seats that are 4-year terms.

The City Clerk will accept Affidavits of Candidacy at City Hall, 241 West Broadway, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. today.
