PEM Youth Wrestling Event Successful Fundraiser

Greg Taylor

A recent youth wrestling event, bringing together around 150 young athletes from across the region, was a huge success,  raising over $3,000 for a group that provides real time connections to parents of a child with Down Syndrome.

On Sunday, February 23rd, PEM High School hosted wrestlers from PEM, Mayo, Century, Lake City, Wabasha Kellogg, Saint Charles, and John Marshall participated in the event, which was organized by the PEM Wrestling Booster Club.

The primary goal of the event was to offer area youth wrestlers a friendly and fun experience while raising awareness and funds for a meaningful cause—the Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network (DSDN).

To show their support for Down Syndrome, many wrestlers wore colorful and crazy socks, creating a lively and unified atmosphere.

Although the event was free to both participants and fans, donations were encouraged, and the community’s generosity shone through.

Over $3,300 was raised to benefit the Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network.
