River Ray Solar Project Open House

Community members are encouraged to attend an open house hosted by Adapture Renewables for the proposed 2000-Acre River Ray Solar Project on Wednesday, October 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Red Wing Public Library, 225 East Avenue, Red Wing.
Adapture Renewables is the developer and Nick Ries/Ries Farms is the landowner.
The open house is an opportunity for residents, rural landowners, farmers, and other concerned community members to speak directly with project representatives, ask questions, and seek information about the proposed development and its anticipated next steps.
There will be no formal presentation, just stop by at any time during the two-hour event.
The proposed River Ray Energy Center is described as a roughly 2,000-acre, 300-megawatt utility-scale solar development in the Welch Township area of Goodhue County, along Hwys 316 and 61.
The scale of the proposal raises questions that extend beyond whether renewable energy should be developed.
Community members want to understand how a project of this magnitude could affect surrounding properties, productive farmland, wildlife, water resources, and the region's rural character for decades to come.
