Medicare Advantage Dicontinued

Nearly 392,000 Minnesotans could lose their current Medicare Advantage plan next year as insurers reduce or discontinue coverage.
State officials say 15 Minnesota counties will have no Medicare Advantage options in 2027, including Goodhue and Rice Counties, while three counties will also lose Medicare Cost plans.
Original Medicare will remain available. Medicare Open Enrollment runs through December 7th.
Major insurers like Humana, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, HealthPartners, Medica, and UnitedHealthcare are scaling back or exiting markets due to high medical/drug costs and lower-than-expected federal reimbursement.
Residents in affected areas can switch to Original Medicare (Parts A and B), add a stand-alone Medicare Part D prescription drug plan, or purchase a Medigap (Medicare Supplement) policy.
Guaranteed issue rights are available during this transition without medical underwriting
Officials urge beneficiaries to review their coverage, including doctor networks, prescription drug costs and premiums, and choose a new plan if needed.
