PEM School District Interim Superintendent




Erick Enger began work Monday, July 1 as interim superintendent for the PEM school district.


He succeeds Darrin Strosahl, who served two years as superintendent and is now working as executive director of the St. Cloud-based Minnesota Rural Education Association.


According to the Plainview News, the 62-year old Enger is a native of Aurora, Ill., and graduated from Hayfield High School in 1981. He earned an Industrial Tech degree from Bemidji State University and a Special Education degree from Winona State University.


He taught for 12 years and served 14 years as principal at Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School, and served nine years as superintendent of the Lake City school district, through 2023.


PEM School Board members approved a 1-year contract with Enger on June 26.
