The latest round of Plainview Elgin Millville Foundation Community Grants were recently announced.

A grant of $1,088.83 on behalf of Plainview-Elgin-Millville Elementary School for the Art Makes Kids SmART field trip to the Winona Marine Art Museum was accepted.

PEM Elementary also accepted a $2,500 grant to fund the purchase of new books for the school's book vending machine.  

The Plainview News reports a $1,000 grant was given on behalf of Childhood Cancer Community to host support groups and events for children and families bravely facing cancer.

The PEM Foundation also gave a $2,000 grant for Cub Scout Pack #57 to help to offset costs for PEM children wanting to join Scouts. This grant supports dues and projects.  

Half of the funding for the school-based grants was generously matched by the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation (SMIF).
