PEM Elementary Playground Grant

Foresight Bank, in partnership with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines), announced that the Plainview Lions Club will receive a $160,000 grant from the Member Impact Fund to install an adaptive and inclusive playground being planned for PEM Elementary School in Plainview.

The Plainview News reports the Lions have partnered with PEM on the project.

The playground is designed to serve children of all mobilities, including those who use wheelchairs and those with autism or other sensory processing challenges.

The plan is to replace the existing two playground structures located behind the PreK-3 Elementary School building to provide an environment for children of all abilities that is accessible and inclusive.

PEM Elementary School principal Jon Wright says they  have a very ambitious goal of raising nearly a million dollars for the whole project, and this donation gives them a great start.
