For the second year, The Greater Lake City Community Foundation has established a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) with an anonymous donor.
The purpose of this DAF is to match donations made to Packing for the Weekend/Lake City, which is a local program that supplies supplemental weekend food for children of families in need to help assure that important nutritional needs of growing youngsters are met.
Currently the program supports 27 families with 62 children weekly.
This DAF has been funded to match donations up to $10,000 on a dollar-for-dollar basis during 2024. The United Way of Goodhue, Wabasha, & Pierce Counties is serving as the financial agent for Packing for the Weekend/Lake City.
