Minnesota State College Southeast is excited to host the American Welding Society’s Behind the Mask competition today.
Event organizers expect more than 150 competitors to visit Southeast’s Winona campus for a day full of competitions and skills challenges.
Behind the Mask is a series of regional welding competitions organized by local sections of the American Welding Society, focused on showcasing welding skills in a practical setting.
The American Welding Society’s Northwest Section is organizing the competition at Southeast, where welders may compete in four different categories.
Student and professional welders 18 and above can make industry connections, help raise money for scholarships and prizes.
The competition will start at 9 a.m. and run through an awards presentation and dinner from 5 to 6 p.m.
