Red Wing Aces catcher/first baseman Reid Hartmann will be leaving the team for about four weeks. Hartmann received an invitation and will be in the Independence Summer League in Spearfish, South Dakota for the Spearfish Sasquatch.

The Independence League is a college wood bat league comprised of teams from South Dakota, Wyoming and Nebraska and is similar to the Northwoods League.

Hartmann graduated from Red Wing High School in 2024 and was the schools Senior All Star Athlete. He finished up his freshman year at Augustana College Vikings baseball team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In 17 games with the Aces after coming home from college, Hartmann led the team with a .411 average alternating between catcher and first base with Dixon Irwin.

He is expected to rejoin the Aces for their Class B District 2 playoff run and possible state tournament run in August.
