HEISE HELPS TEAM USA TO VICTORY


The United States routed Finland 7-1 Wednesday in their opening game of the preliminary round of the IIHF Women's World Hockey Championship. The tournament is being played at Budvar Arena in Ceska Budejovice, Czechia (Czech Repiblic).


Taylor Heise (Lake City, MN native, Red Wing High School, University of Minnesota, Minnesota Frost of the PWHL) had a goal and an assist for the United States. Hayley Scamurra and Kelly Pannek added two goals apiece for the Americans.


The United States faces host country Czechia in their second game Friday at 12pm central time which is 7pm in Czechia. The US faces arch-rival Canada Sunday and Switzerland next Tuesday to complete the preliminary round.


The quarterfinals and April 17th, the semifinals April 19th and the Gold medal game is Sunday, April 20th.
