The 8th annual Kentucky Derby party was held on May 3rd, at the Coffee Mill Golf Clubhouse and Event Center.

The Wabasha County Herald reports the 50 attendees were there to support the Wabasha Kellogg Area Community Foundation.

A total of $1,970 was raised for community projects.

Betting on the horse race was the main event but there were other opportunities to show support for the organization like the 50/50  raffle, the silent auction and the auction of six cheesecakes.

The date for the 9th annual Derby party is set for May 2nd.
