It is anticipated that Hwy 61 will reopen to traffic between Lake City and Red Wing this week when crews complete the installation of the permanent signs and remove the detour.
It's important to stay alert along Hwy 61 because crews will continue work to finish paving, shouldering, striping and rumble strip installation through October.
There will be times during the workday when traffic will be temporarily delayed by flaggers while crews are paving areas.
Construction started July 5 and is scheduled to be completed by early November 2023.
