MnDOT and Goodhue County are taking action to help drivers better recognize and understand the Highway 56 and Goodhue County Road 9 intersection after recent crashes.
Thanks to the input received and information gathered, here’s what’s happening:
Larger stop signs and “Cross Traffic Does Not Stop” signs
Fresh STOP AHEAD markings and stop bars
Rumble strips added to alert drivers
Vegetation cleared for better visibility
MnDOT will be meeting with local reps and first responders this month to gather more insights.
Crash data and community feedback will guide future safety improvements.
