Girls Golf:

Lake City is the Section 1AA Girls Golf champion once again. The Tigers rallied on the back nine at Northern Hills Thursday to post a two day team total of 699 with the Red Wing Wingers one shot back at 700. PIZM was third with a 705.

Mattie Mears had the low two day score for Lake City with a 166.

Junior Hallie Johnson turned in a Tiger Woods like performance to easily win medalist honors. Johnson followed an opening day 77 with a one under par 71 yesterday for a two day total of 148...14 shots better than the second place golfer.

The Lake City girls team and Hallie Johnson of Red Wing advance to the State Class AA Girls Golf Tournament June 10-11 at The Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan.

Boys & Girls Track & Field:

A couple of record setting performances by the Red Wing Wingers on the first day of the Section 1AA Track & Field meet in Faribault.

Senior Brock Kajewski broke a 60 year year old school record in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.03 seconds.

Junior Nora Hanson set a section record with a time of 11 minutes, 10.64 seconds in the 3200 meter run.
