Wednesday Scores:
Girls Golf:
Lake City rolled to the Section 1AA title at Northern Hills in Rochester with a 669 total, 89 shots better than second place Red Wing's total of 758. 12 teams were in the section field.
Lake City had the four low scores individually in the two day tourney. Jordana Windhorst-Knudsen was the medalist with a 155. Emma Berge was second with a 169 followed by Ella Matzke with a 170 and Mattie Mears with a 176.
Red Wing qualified two golfers for state as Bri Novak was fifth with a 177 and Bailie Roschen ninth with a 192.
Boys Golf:
Pine Island-Zumbrota-Mazeppa is the Section 1AA champ with a 628 team total with Stewartville second at 635.
Red Wing and Lake City finished in the middle of the pack of the 17 team field. Lake City's Andru Kors tied for seventh individually with a 161 but lost a two hole playoff to qualify for state. The Tigers Noah Wallerich tied for 10th individually with a 163. Red Wing's Denval Atkinson and John Ahrens tied for 12th with a 164.
Amateur Baseball:
Red Wing Aces 9 Minneapolis North Stars 3-The Aces scored two runs in the first inning and five in the second inning to improve to 2-8 on the season.
Sam Palmatier went six innings on the mound to get the win. aaron Johnson, Marcus Walm, Zach Harding and Brodie Smith had two hits apiece.

Section 1A Final: Wabasha-Kellogg vs. Faribault Bethlehem Academy 5pm at Austin. Wabasha-Kellogg needs one win to get to state while FBA needs to win twice.
Section 1AA Final: Cannon Falls vs. Chatfield 5pm at Austin. Cannon Falls needs one win to get to state while Chatfield needs two wins.
