He Mni Can/Barn Bluff Controlled Burn

The Conservation Corps of Minnesota and Iowa in cooperation with the City of Red Wing will be conducting a controlled burn at He Mni Can/Barn Bluff Regional Park this morning, weather permitting.

The burn will be isolated to the western and central native prairie sections of the bluff and is scheduled to begin at around  11 am.

Fire and smoke may be noticeable from great distances.

He Mni Can/Barn Bluff Regional Park will be open and available for public use; however, the burn will temporarily impact the upper portion of the South Trail, the western access to the North Trail, and the Prairie Trail.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to avoid the burn area while burn crew members are on the scene and should follow any on-site instructions from burn crew members or temporary signage.
