Habitat for Humanity Hope Heights Project

Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity's plans to transform the former St. John's Hospital site received the approval at last weeks Red Wing City Council meeting needed to keep moving forward.

The Council approved a Conditional Use Permit, Planned Unit Development General Development Plan, and Preliminary Plat Request for the proposed 26-unit residential development off West Fourth Street.

That includes 10 detached single-family homes and 16 twin home units.

The Hope Heights project is slated to begin with the construction of a twin home in the southeast corner of the parcel this year, followed by the construction of the proposed alley and utility construction this year into 2026.

Full build-out of the project is currently estimated to take eight to nine years. Final plans are still required to be submitted.
