The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office has seen a rise in drug overdoses the past few years with the proliferation of opioids and fentanyl.
Goodhue County Sheriff, Marty Kelly, says the department saw overdoses spike 2 years ago with nearly a dozen deaths and overdoses that were saved ran in to the 30's.
Kelly says Narcan has been a valuable tool to help his department save victims of overdosing.
Kelly says unfortunatly not all overdoses in the county are reported so the actual number is likely to be quite a bit higher than the statistics they keep.
