ree

A pair of Goodhue County schools districts held Operating Referendums on Tuesday’s ballot and they both received good news from the voters.

Goodhue’s referendum narrowly passed, 296 to 290, 50.51% to 49.49%.

The districts general education revenue will increase by $800 per pupil.

The revenue authorization will be effective beginning with taxes payable in 2026 and is applicable for ten (10) years unless otherwise revoked or reduced as provided by law.

The Cannon Falls referendum passed by a 1,504 to 697 vote, 68.90% to 31.10%, and the yes vote will increase the revenue by $950 per pupil for 10 years, subject to an annual increase at the rate of inflation.

The new referendum revenue authorization would be first levied in 2025 for taxes payable in 2026.
