During last Tuesday’s Red Wing City Council meeting, Mayor Mike Wilson, on behalf of the Human Rights Commission, awarded the 2023 Amos Owen Award to Jasmine Fiddler.
Jasmine was recognized for her role in the Honoring Dakota Project and for working so the rights of Indigenous community members are upheld.
Jasmine has been vital in building relationships between the Prairie Island Indian Community and Red Wing.
Since 2001, the annual Amos Owen Award has recognized local individuals for their work in promoting justice and equality for others based around human rights.
