Fall Color Changes

The changing of the leaves in southeast Minnesota is becoming much more apparent now that the calendar has flipped to October.


According to the Fall Color Finder on the Minnesota DNR site, as of Wednesday, nearly all of southeastern part of the state is in the 10-25% category.


Exceptions are the far southeast corner of Wabasha County and the northeast portion of Winona County which are still at 0-10%.


The Eastern part of Olmsted County and the western portion of Winona County is now at 25%-50% full.


The typical dates for peak fall colors in southeast Minnesota is early to mid October.
