Elgin’s City Council Dollar General

Elgin’s City Council on July 15 passed a motion to accept a variance permit for AMH Properties, LLC, in order to move forward with a project to bring a Dollar General store to Elgin.

AMH Properties LLC, headquartered in Calabasas, Calif., is a real estate investment trust specializing in the acquisition, development, and management of single-family rental homes.

According to the Plainview News, the variance was requested because the proposed Dollar General building was listed five feet too close to Highway 42 (the store’s entrance will face south, toward the former Texteijl building).

Wouldn't need variant if the lot was big enough for what there building. Now there putting a loading zone or dock 3 feet away from residential property.and the elgin city council doesn't care because they don't live there. The mayor of elgin kevin is an ass hole.
