Since 2008, 88 illuminated snowflake decorations have adorned the light poles in downtown Red Wing.
Downtown Main Street Executive Director, Andrea Hanson, says the manmade snowflakes are worn out and they are hoping to replace them.
To make these new snowflakes a reality, Downtown Main Street needs $32,000, but thanks to a dollar-for-dollar matching campaign from the Downtown Philanthropic Collaborative through March, all donations made by the community will be doubled.
Hanson says they are picking out 40 light poles that will feature donors names.
Donations can be made by mailing a check to DTMS (snowflakes in the memo) at 419 Bush St. Red Wing MN 55066 or by going online at https://www.downtownredwing.org/.
You can also drop it off at Hanson’s store, Phileo Style at 319 Mainstreet.
