Empty Bowls remains a crucial part of Rochester’s Channel One Regional Food Bank’s work to increase food security for our friends and neighbors.
Jessica Sund, Director of Development and Communications, says this year’s Empty Bowls: To-Go will take place in mid-October and will directly benefit those who are facing uncertainty during this unprecedented time.
Sund says all the funds raised from the 17th annual Empty Bowls will be put back into the communities they serve in 14 Southeastern Minnesota counties and western Wisconsin through a network of 183 food shelves, pantries and programs.
Sund says participants will still enjoy gourmet soups and bread from local restaurants as well as hand-painted bowls– as a reminder of those who may not know where their next meal will come from. Some are even available to purchase and bring home to paint it up yourself before bringing it back for the event.
The drive-thru event October 12th and 13th is pre-order only online at https://www.helpingfeedpeople.org/empty-bowls/.
All orders will be picked up at Canadian Honker Catering located at 2112 2nd Street SW, Rochester. Orders close on Sunday, October 10 at 7:00pm.
