Red Wing Public School reminds parents that although Minnesota provides free meals for students who attend schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program, schools must still collect Applications for Educational Benefits to determine eligibility categories and receive the correct federal and state reimbursements.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture updated its income guidelines for free and reduced-price eligibility for Child Nutrition Programs.
Although an application is no longer required to receive one breakfast and one lunch free of charge every school day, completing the paperwork still benefits qualifying families as well as the district.
Your student may qualify for:

Reduced fees for athletics, clubs and activities
Drivers' education scholarships
Waived fees for college applications & exams
The application form is available online through SchoolCafe at https://www.schoolcafe.com in English and Spanish or you may complete the form during a RWPS school open house.
