LEMKE IS NEW WINGERS GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH

Pending board approval, Red Wing High School tabbed Isiah Lemke as their next Head Girls Basketball Coach.

Lemke graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 2016 and played on the Otters football and basketball teams. Lemke graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead and has since coached a variety of football and basketball teams at the high school, college and club levels. Lemke moved to Red Wing a couple of years ago and has been assistant football and girls basketball coach the past two years. Lemke teaches Physical Education at Twin Bluff Middle School.

Part of the statement from Coach Lemke says "I am honored to be named the next Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Red Wing High School and am grateful for the opportunity to serve our student athletes, families and community. My goal is to build upon the strong foundation established by Coach Johnson and the many coaches who have contributed to Red Wing Girls Basketball."

Coach Peter Johnson stepped down in March after seven years at the helm. The Wingers were 25-5 this past season and advanced to the Section 1AA title game before losing 60-56 to Rochester Lourdes.
