Wabasha Rotary Club Projects

The Wabasha Rotary Club is celebrating 75 years of service by initiating two community projects aimed at leaving a lasting impact on the city it has served since 1951.

The Plainview News reports the first project is a Music Park at Beach Park, a new interactive attraction designed to bring people together through music, play, and outdoor fun.

Three musical instruments will be purchased, with tentative installation planned for September.

The second project will improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists crossing Highway 30/Hiawatha Drive East near Big River Resort.

This heavily traveled area connects schools, homes, businesses, and workplaces, making pedestrian safety a community-wide concern.

The project includes a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon Signal (RRFB), which is proven to increase driver yielding and improve visibility at uncontrolled crossings.

The Wabasha Rotary Club is inviting current and former Rotarians, businesses, civic groups, and individuals to support the 75th anniversary projects through a matching funds challenge of up to $12,000, made possible by club members and the Wabasha-Kellogg Area Community Foundation, through Friday, August 7.
