On Tuesday, April 14th, the Wabasha Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider changes to the Wabasha City Ordinance.
The City is updating the Floodplain Management Ordinance to incorporate the updated Flood Insurance Rate Map panels and accompanying Flood Insurance Study for Wabasha County including the City of Wabasha.
Per Minnesota Statute, the MnDNR finds that the City’s drafted floodplain management ordinances substantially complies with the state floodplain management rules and the standards from FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency).
This public hearing will take place at the regular monthly meeting of the Wabasha Planning Commission which will be held at the Wabasha City Hall, 900 Hiawatha Drive.
Additional information and a copy of the draft floodplain management ordinance is available at City Hall.
During the same Wabasha Planning Commission meeting, they will also hold a public hearing submitted by the City of Wabasha for a amended Interim Use Permit (IUP).
This IUP is to temporarily fill a portion of the Athletic Field near Bridge Avenue with excess soil from the downtown street project located at 205 4th Grant Blvd. West.
This meeting begins at 6 pm and other items are on the agenda.
