The City of Wabasha is celebrating Police Officer Kenny Jacobs five-year work anniversary this week.
He works the night shift and also coordinates the Zero Death Initiative, which works to prevent serious injuries and deaths on the roadway by enforcing local traffic laws.
Before coming to Wabasha, he had worked 5 years in Plainview, so he is a 10-year veteran officer.
Police Chief Joe Stark remarked during the City Council meeting that Officer Jacobs is highly knowledgeable in his profession but also thrives in his community policing abilities and he has gained the respect from his fellow Officers and the trust from the residents of this community.
During the meeting, City Administrator, CaroLINE Gregerson, also noted how Officer Jacobs is embedded in the community and is up for anything, noting his participation in a range of community events from the trunk or treat, National Night Out, to the Wabasha County Fair Celebrity Swine Show competition.
