The City of Wabasha is planning a realignment of Trunk Highway 60 to improve safety, reduce flooding closures, and support community growth.
The project will construct a new roadway segment that eliminates a dangerous T-shaped intersection at the foot of the steep bridge approach and raises the road above the 100-year flood elevation.
The City is still working with the State Legislature to secure bonding funds to be able to complete the utility portion of the project.
The City held an open house on the project on October 23rd and the selected design was chosen by 70% of participants.
The Preliminary Designs for the roadway have been approved by the City Council.
Now the work begins for final road designs and incorporating comments received.
The estimated start date for construction is Spring through Fall of 2027.
