Wabasha County Public Health will be offering Moderna vaccine clinics for an additional dose of Covid-19 vaccine for people that are moderately to severely immunocompromised.
The CDC now recommends an additional dose of Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for people that are moderately to severely immunocompromised. CDC does not recommend additional doses or booster shots for any other population at this time.
People should talk to their healthcare provider about their medical condition, and whether getting an additional dose is appropriate for them. Please consult with your physician BEFORE registering for an appointment.
For immunocompromised people who received either Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine series, a third dose of the same mRNA vaccine should be used and administered at least 28 days after a second dose.
Please bring your vaccine card so staff can verify previous vaccine received and add the additional dose to your card.
Wabasha County Public Health has appointments open for a MODERNA vaccine clinic Wednesday, August 25th beginning at 8:30 am. Please contact Public Health at 651-565-5200 or go to the Wabasha County Public Health Facebook page for the link to register.
