Wabasha County Commissioners recently approved highway maintenance agreements with the cities of Elgin, Kellogg, Lake City, Mazeppa, Millville, Plainview and Wabasha for 2027, at a total cost of just over $29,000.
According to the Plainview News, the agreements are funded from the County’s State Aid Municipal Maintenance Apportionment.
Maintenance agreements with cities have previously been executed annually for snow plowing and hauling, and sweeping.
The amounts per mile reflect expected costs to the County for the work described, and are based on the County’s last three complete calendar years’ average snow and ice removal costs per mile increased for municipal work, and expected sweeping costs.
The resolution, which includes hauling of snow, has been the approved option of the County Board for past years’ maintenance agreements.
