Wabasha County 2027 Budget

Wabasha County Finance Director Gwen Bruegger discussed the 2027 budget process and provided a budget ‘kick-off’ and overview presentation during the County Board meeting on June 2.

According to the Plainview News, capital budget requests for 2027 highway projects began May 6 and ended May 26, but a few more requests are still coming.

Bruegger said operational budget requests will close Sunday, June 28 for each county department.

The County will adopt a proposed 2027 budget in September; open enrollment for county staff begins in October for medical, dental, and all other insurances; a Truth in Taxation hearing will be held Dec. 1; and the 2027 levy and budget will be approved on Dec. 15^th.
