There is a common bond many veterans share: in the aftermath of warfare, they battle Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD. Now thanks to some Vietnam War Veterans who saw a need, there is a free resource available that can help all veterans.
Lance Garrick, President of Hiawatha Valley Family Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, says Dr. Steve Lansing and B. Wayne Quist, co-authors of Veterans in Crisis: Treating the Unique Needs of Those Who Served, will present their new book at the American Legion in Red Wing next week.
The event will take place on Friday, June 21, between 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be free snacks and cash bar.
Garrick says June is PTSD Awareness Month and as part of their mission to help as many veterans as possible, the public is invited to this important community service event on PTSD and suicide prevention.
Signed books will be available for $20 and free for disabled veterans and first responders.
The book was published by the 501c3 nonprofit Veterans Empowered, Inc., which has a goal of raising $500,000 through grants and donations.
