Stockholm is getting some major attention as a being on Midwest Living’s 8 best Small Town Getaways in Wisconsin.
The article mentions it’s located on one of America’s most highly regarded road trip routes, the Great River Road National Scenic Byway, and it makes for a great weekend getaway.
As its name suggests, Stockholm is a slice of Scandinavia on the “west coast” of Wisconsin.
Midwest Living mentions highlights such as the elevated Nordic goods stop Scandihoo, a brand new lavender farm, and the teeny farm-to-table gastropub, Hop, Dish & Vine.
Visitors can get a taste of Wisconsin at the nearby Maiden Rock Winery & Cidery, which produces beverages from estate grown apples.
They also suggest trying the trail at Maiden Rock Bluff State Natural Area, which boasts one of the prettiest vantages on the entire Mississippi.
