The Wild didn't make any noise on offense during a 3-1 loss to the Calgary Flames at the Xcel Energy Center. Minnesota surrendered two goals in the first period, but Pat Maroon lit the lamp in the second to bring the Wild within a goal. However, Calgary sealed its win with an empty-netter in the final minute. The Wild remain in seventh place in the Central Division with 36 points and a 16-16-and-4 record. Minnesota hosts Tampa Bay tomorrow night.
The Timberwolves will try to get back in the win column when they host the New Orleans Pelicans at the Target Center tonight. The Wolves are coming off a 112-106 loss to the New York Knicks. Minnesota has not lost back-to-back contests this season. The T-Wolves still sit atop the Western Conference at 24-and-8.
The Vikings begin their potentially final week of practice today. Minnesota will spend the week preparing for their Sunday road game against the Detroit Lions. The 7-and-9 Vikings need to win in order to have a slim chance of making it to the postseason. Minnesota is in last place in the NFC North.
Aaron Rodgers is taking shots at a former NFC North rival. The Jets star quarterback joined the Pat McAfee show and said Sunday's matchup between the Bears and Packers is Chicago's "Super Bowl." He also said Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur has never lost to them, so it isn't really a rivalry anymore. The Packers hold an NFC Wild Card spot at 8-and-8.
The Bucks are hoping to exact some revenge tonight. The team tips off against the Pacers in Indianapolis. Milwaukee is coming off a loss to Indy where Giannis Antetokounmpo led all scorers with 30 points and tallied a triple-double on 18 rebounds and 11 assists. Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez each sunk 21 as the Bucks still lead the Central Division at 24-and-9.
